An Amazing Afternoon in Inverness
A short hike took us on a tour of madrones, manzanitas, birch, bishop pines and also these sights:

A field of myosotis, commonly known as forget-me-nots, which are everywhere these days, but like muscari, are a wonderful vision when seen in great numbers,

Wild irises,

and Trametes versicolor, commonly known as turkey tails:

I loved the way the pattern created by these trees’ trunks:

We also saw an osprey and a red tail hawk. I brought home a little lichen-covered branch since so many had fallen on the trail from wind and rain. Beautiful moss on it too. A great day.
